In this day and age, there’s no need to have wonky teeth. There’s also no need for treatment to take years and years or to make umpteen trips to the orthodontist. Thanks to a relatively new product called Fastbraces, straightening your teeth has never been so easy.
Fastbraces are an effective orthodontic treatment which straighten the teeth much quicker than traditional braces, often proving effective within 3 to 12 months. They can be used for all sorts of problems, including crowded, misaligned teeth, spaces in between teeth and problems with your bite.
So, how are they different?
Traditional braces move the crown section of the teeth and then the root. But with Fastbraces, the root is moved from day one, which means that the whole tooth is moved together. This means treatment time is drastically reduced and that there’s a more joined up approach to treatment. What’s more, Fastbraces use triangular shaped brackets instead of the traditional square ones, which has been proven to increase wire flexibility.
What happens before and during treatment?
Before you have your Fastbraces fitted, your dentist will take x-rays of your teeth to create a customised treatment plan. Fitting the brace only takes around an hour and maintenance appointments around 30 minutes. Although traditional braces usually require a set of wires, Fastbraces use the same orthodontic wire from start to finish.
What about afterwards?
Like all brace systems, after your Fastbraces come off you will have to wear a retainer to make sure your teeth stay in place. These are usually worn at night and can easily be removed.
